Where are you feeling empowered or disempowered in your woman’s story?
I feel empowered most of the times, but there are times where I felt disempowered. I am distraught sometimes when I think about how far I will succeed and how far i can go on. My work consumes time and labor. Because of this, people assume that a work done by a woman is slow. I want to break this assumption.
What would you change about the assumptions of women made by Society?
I want to break the gender stereotypes that is created by society at large. Also, we need to change societal expectations which accepts only submissive women. They expect women to be silent, docile and to obey. I am trying to challenge such impositions on women. Moreover, I would like to be the change myself.
As Gandhi says, ” Be the change that you want to be.”
As a woman, how do you balance your work life and motherhood?
The amount of hard work, dedication and time we put in our work and then looking after our family is immeasurable. Often, we struggle to make both ends work, leading to extreme stress and tiredness and even anxiety. Here are some ways in which I used to balance work and family life.
First of all, I try to complete my household chores and then I find time to focus on my work. In the meantime, keeping housekeeper for a specific times help me out a lot.
Moreover, I need to give myself sometime to rejuvenate my mind and physical strength so I used to communicate with my spouse, take a sort nap, watch movies or set hobbies. As a woman, I face many challenges and obstacles. Sometimes, people question my credibility too. But I don’t give up and show them my potential and my capabilities.
